Women’s Green Bank.

A financial inclusion platform serving two audiences that could hardly be more different, international funders and the market women of Sierra Leone’s informal economy, from one bilingual, mobile-first home.

The story

Two audiences,
one front door

Women’s Green Bank is being built for the women who power Sierra Leone’s informal economy: market women, traders, producers, and entrepreneurs. Its promise is access, dignity, and financial tools that work in real life.

The platform had to do two communication jobs at once. It needed to convince international funders and development finance institutions that the organisation is credible enough to back, and it needed to feel genuine and welcoming to women with limited digital literacy, arriving on basic phones over mobile data. Serving either audience is straightforward. Serving both from one home is the challenge.

What we built

Institutional upstairs,
human at the door

We designed the platform with two clearly differentiated content layers sharing one identity. The institutional layer carries the financial inclusion data, governance, and credentials that funders assess. The community layer speaks simply and warmly, led by images of the real women and businesses being served, and written for reading contexts the sector usually ignores.

The build is mobile-first and light on data, because that is how its most important audience arrives. Donation and partnership journeys are woven in so that both audiences can act, each in their own way, without friction.

The result

Credibility and connection,
from one platform

The platform earns trust with international funders while genuinely connecting with the women it exists to serve, bridging two worlds from a single digital home. It is proof that accessibility and institutional credibility are not opposites when the design respects both audiences.
